Carers Count receives £250 donation from Syngenta’s Employee Community Gift Fund
We are delighted to have received a generous £250 donation from Huddersfield-based Syngenta through their Employee Community Gift Fund.
Founded in 1916, Syngenta is a global company that develops crop protection products to help growers meet the ever-increasing demand for food, feed and fuel. The company employs more than 450 people in Huddersfield.
Syngenta’s Employee Community Gift Fund is a programme where employees donate directly from their wages to support local community groups, with all contributions matched by Syngenta.
In December last year, Carers Count was invited to attend the Syngenta Connecting Communities event. Each community group that attended received a £250 donation from the Employee Community Gift Fund as a thank-you for giving their time to take part.
Organisations attending the event included: The Welcome Centre, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Give a Few Words, Home-Start, Age UK (Kirklees), Carers Count Kirklees, Support 2 Recovery, the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (LGI), and The Lighthouse.
Heather Ellis, Service Manager for Carers Count Kirklees, said “We really enjoyed attending the Connecting Communities event and were delighted to receive such a generous £250 donation for Carers Count.
Unpaid carers give their time, energy and compassion every day to support others. This generous contribution will help support the running of our service and enable us to explore new ways of providing much-needed rest and respite opportunities for carers across Kirklees.”
